Northpoint Release Destinations

Northpoint Training Center is an adult state prison operated by the Kentucky Department of Corrections in Boyle County. A person leaving Northpoint may enter parole, mandatory reentry supervision, final discharge, another DOC institution, a county jail, a hospital, or another agency's custody. The movement code and current DOC status determine which description is accurate.

Parole is conditional community release before sentence expiration under Kentucky Parole Board authority. Mandatory reentry supervision is a separate statutory route for some people near projected completion. A final discharge ends the governing DOC status shown by the record. By contrast, transfer to another prison keeps the person incarcerated, even though Northpoint is no longer the listed institution.

Confirm a Northpoint Release

Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, or KOOL, is the main public search for a Northpoint offender. It permits name and identifier searches and includes Projected Release Date From and To filters. Those date fields help locate records, but a projection can change. An actual Northpoint departure needs a current or former status, an official Daily Releases entry, or the underlying DOC record.

1. Open the KOOL search and begin with the surname and first initial.
2. Compare candidates using the DOC number and verified biographical details before adding narrow filters.
3. Open the detail and read status, institution, supervision information, conviction data, dates, and the update notice together.
4. Search the DOC Daily Releases archive around the likely event date.
5. Use VINE for a custody-status check, then request the DOC release, transfer, or discharge record when documentary proof is needed.

A Boyle conviction filter can narrow KOOL results, but conviction county is not physical location. A person convicted elsewhere may leave from Northpoint. Someone convicted in Boyle County may leave from a different state prison.

Northpoint Offender Search Fields

KOOL fields serve different purposes. A name or DOC number finds the offender. Institution and status describe the current state record. Conviction county links a sentence to its court origin but does not locate the person. Projected release dates are planning fields, while a former-offender or supervision status speaks to a later stage.

The KOOL FAQ says the system updates four times each day and shows only the last ten convictions. Recent information may not yet be final. Offender Information Services or a written request is the fallback for older history, more convictions, and records not displayed online.

Northpoint Daily Release Reports

Kentucky DOC publishes date-organized Daily Releases reports. These are statewide prison records, not a Boyle County jail release feed. A report can confirm that DOC included a person on a particular day's release list. Each current PDF must be read by its actual column headings because the contents can change.

A missing name does not settle the issue. The date may be wrong, the spelling may differ, the event could be a transfer outside the report's scope, or the person may not be in DOC custody. Recheck KOOL, VINE, and the official release or movement record. A daily report also cannot establish what happened in a separate BCDC booking.

Northpoint Release Records Contact

Northpoint's individual facility page should be used for institution information, while Kentucky DOC open records handles state offender documents. A request should identify the person by full name and date of birth or offender ID and name the existing record sought. Useful targets include a release or discharge record, transfer record, final status entry, time-computation record, or offender photograph.

The DOC open-records instructions say the standard form is optional, but the request must be written and include a mailing address. Released paper pages cost $0.10 each. An electronic CD is $1 plus postage, and a USB is approximately $2.50 plus postage. Prepayment may be required.

KRS 197.025 gives DOC five business days, excluding weekends and legal holidays, to permit inspection, deny with a legal basis, or state when unavailable records will be available. DOC need not create a compilation or answer a narrative question. Narrow record names, subject identifiers, and dates help the custodian locate existing material.

Northpoint Projected Release Dates

A projected date begins with the controlling sentence and custody credit, then reflects sentence structure, eligible credits, forfeitures, court orders, detainers, and other lawful changes. It is not the same as parole eligibility. A favorable parole recommendation also requires processing and an executed release before the person leaves Northpoint.

KRS 197.045 governs Kentucky sentence credits, including specified program and good-behavior credits. Credits may be lost or denied after violations, and consecutive sentences aggregate for computation. Public fields do not support a homemade date calculation. Confirm the current projection through DOC and confirm the actual event after it happens.

Northpoint Release Supervision

A released person may remain under Kentucky DOC field supervision. District 6 serves Boyle County from its Danville office and also covers seven other counties. KOOL may point to supervision, while the published district office provides a direct corroboration route for appropriate public status information.

Probation usually comes from a sentencing court. Parole comes through Board authority before sentence expiration. Mandatory reentry is another route and should not be mislabeled as parole. An absconder or violation marker describes a later supervision problem; it does not erase the fact that the original prison release occurred.

Northpoint VINE Release Status

Kentucky VINE covers adult correctional facilities and offers custody-change notices. Search one person, confirm the facility and identity, and read status, location, event wording, and update time together. If the person is no longer in custody, Kentucky's official explanation says VINE provides the release date.

VINE is a status and notification service. It is not the certified Northpoint release or discharge record. A transfer notification can mean custody continued elsewhere. Register on the correct record for the event and delivery choices available, but use KOOL and DOC documentation for the lasting state record.

The prison and jail systems must remain separate even though both are in Boyle County. Northpoint releases belong to the state route. BCDC community releases belong to the county booking-and-release record. Starting with the facility name prevents the wrong roster from driving the search.

Resolve Northpoint Record Conflicts

Timing often explains an apparent conflict among KOOL, VINE, and a Daily Releases report. KOOL can change after a movement is processed. VINE depends on an event from the participating agency. A daily report captures the scope and headings used for one date. Preserve each source's update information before comparing it.

Identity matching matters as much as timing. Begin with surname and first initial, then compare the DOC number and verified biographical facts. A suffix, alias, middle-name variation, wrong conviction county, or transposed date can exclude the correct record. Search broadly before deciding that Northpoint did not report a release.

If the records still disagree, ask DOC for the existing release, discharge, transfer, or final-status record. State the date range and Northpoint connection. Do not ask the agency to calculate a new answer from public fields. The official movement record can show whether the person entered community supervision or remained in custody at a receiving institution.
