Boyle County Release Meanings
A release is a custody event, not one universal status. Boyle County Detention Center may release someone on bond, after time served, after dismissal, or at the end of a county sentence. Northpoint Training Center may release a state offender through parole, mandatory reentry supervision, or final discharge. A movement to another jail, prison, hospital, or federal agency ends custody at one place but does not put the person in the community.
The facility and recorded destination control the next step. BCDC holds local bookings and people moving through court process. Northpoint is a Kentucky Department of Corrections prison. A person tied to a Boyle criminal case may be confined elsewhere, while someone convicted in another county may leave from Northpoint. County of conviction and physical place of confinement must not be treated as the same fact.
| Release term | Meaning | Record to check |
|---|---|---|
| Bond | Physical custody ends under court-set terms | BCDC release entry and bond order |
| Time served | Credited confinement reaches the sentence end | Jail record, judgment, and credit order |
| Parole | Conditional community release before sentence expiration | KOOL and final Parole Board action |
| Probation | Court-ordered supervision, usually not a Board release | Court order and District 6 confirmation |
| Transfer | Custody moves to another authority | Destination field and receiving system |
Boyle County Release Record Fields
The county jail's booking-and-release record is the best documentary source for a BCDC departure. Request the existing sheet or jail-management entry. Use a full name, aliases, date of birth or booking number, and an approximate date range to reduce a false match. The fields should be read as one record because no single code tells the whole story.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Admission date and time | When the recorded Boyle County custody began |
| Release date and time | When BCDC recorded physical departure |
| Release type or code | Bond, time served, dismissal, transfer, or another recorded reason |
| Releasing facility | The office ending its custody |
| Destination or agency | Whether another custodian received the person, when recorded |
| Booking and case numbers | Links the jail event to the right booking and court file |
| Bond details | Connects a bond release with payment and court authority |
| Booking photograph | Identifies the booking event, not guilt or present status |
A bond code proves the jail event while the court order shows the authority and continuing conditions. A transfer code proves departure from Boyle custody, not release from all custody. VINE can report a change, but the underlying jail or DOC record remains the documentary source.
Request Boyle County Release Records
For a BCDC record, email bcdcopenrecords@boylecountyky.gov. Kentucky open-records law does not require staff to create a report or answer a narrative question. Ask for identifiable records sufficient to show the admission, release date and time, release code, destination, related identifiers, bond entry, and booking photograph.
- Identify the person with a full name, aliases, date of birth, or booking number.
- Give a practical booking or release date range.
- Name the booking-and-release sheet, electronic entry, photograph, and destination notation sought.
- Ask for electronic delivery when available and request the legal basis plus segregable remainder if a field is withheld.
- Keep the signed request, any residency proof, delivery confirmation, and agency response.

For state offender records, use the Kentucky DOC open-records process. Written requests need a mailing address. DOC lists paper copies at $0.10 per released page, a $1 CD plus postage, and a USB at about $2.50 plus postage. KRS 197.025 provides a five-business-day response period, excluding weekends and legal holidays.
Boyle County Release Record Law
The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, supplies the general access framework. Jail, court, DOC, and Parole Board records have different custodians and can have different exemptions. Juvenile confidentiality, sealed or expunged cases, personal privacy, active-enforcement harm, security concerns, preliminary material, and another confidentiality statute may limit fields.
Redaction of an exempt part does not always justify withholding the remaining public fields. A narrow request tied to a person, booking, document type, and date range is easier to process. Ask the custodian to cite the exemption when material is denied. Retention is also different from online display. BCDC publishes no promise that a former booking remains online for any set period, though an underlying record may still be retained.
Expungement can cause a case to disappear from ordinary court results and can direct removal or restriction in named agency systems. Kentucky provisions appear across KRS 431.073, .074, .076, .078, and .079. A no-result can therefore have a lawful record reason. It is not proof that the person was never held.
When Boyle Bond Release Happens
BCDC says Pretrial Services interviews each person within 24 hours after booking and generally returns bond amounts and conditions by 1 p.m. daily. That local timing describes receipt of bond information, not a guaranteed exit hour. Payment, transmission of the order, unresolved holds, identity checks, property processing, and jail operations can all affect the physical departure.
Weekday monetary bonds from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. go through the Boyle Circuit Court Clerk. BCDC accepts monetary bonds on weekends and courthouse-closed holidays, and accepts nonmonetary bonds at any time. Property bonds and bonds of $10,000 or more go only through the clerk. The person posting bond must meet the identification and eligibility rules published by the county.
Two official pages conflict on fee components. One lists a $33 administrative or booking fee, a $5 jail bond fee, and a $25 court filing fee. The other lists a $25 administrative booking fee, a $13 jail fee, and the same $25 filing fee. The components total similarly, but readers should confirm before travel or payment instead of choosing one page silently.
Confirm Boyle County Release Fees
The fee conflict deserves a separate check because both descriptions come from official BCDC pages. The bond information page supplies one breakdown, while the jail payment page supplies the other. Neither page should be silently treated as more current without confirmation from the clerk or jail office that will take the payment.
| Official page | Published components |
|---|---|
| Bond information | $33 administrative or booking, $5 jail bond, $25 court filing |
| Pay jail fees | $25 administrative booking, $13 jail, $25 court filing |
An unsolicited payment demand is not proof that a Boyle County release is authorized. A December 2025 county alert warned that BCDC had no holiday release program, did not accept Cash App or prepaid cards for jail bills, and could not release someone without served time or a court order. Call BCDC and verify the entered order before sending funds.
Find Boyle County Released Inmates
Start with the custody type, not with a broad name search. The BCDC roster answers whether a person appears in current county custody. KOOL covers Kentucky state offenders and former offenders. BOP covers federal sentence custody. ICE ODLS covers current immigration custody and some people recently released from it. Court and records offices then provide the durable documents.
- For a local arrest, check BCDC's Current Inmate List. Treat absence as unresolved.
- Search Kentucky VINE for the named person and confirm the participating facility and update.
- Call BCDC and request the existing release record if the name is gone.
- Open the Boyle criminal case for the bond, dismissal, judgment, sentence, or transfer-related order.
- Use KOOL and DOC Daily Releases for state custody, or BOP, ICE, and USMS routes for federal custody.
The official BCDC home page labels its public product as the Current Inmate List.

That label defines the roster's limit: it is a current-custody check, not a Boyle County historical release list.
Boyle County DOC Release Search
KOOL is the main Kentucky DOC offender search. Begin with surname and first initial, review candidates, and add a verified first name, age, DOC number, conviction county, or date filter only as needed. One wrong field can hide the right record. Open the detail and read status, institution or supervision, sentence data, dates, photo availability, update, and disclaimer together.
| KOOL field | Use and limit |
|---|---|
| Name or DOC number | Find and match the offender |
| Conviction county | Narrows to Boyle court history, not physical location |
| Institution or status | Distinguishes custody, supervision, and former status |
| Projected Release Date | A changeable search field, not executed-release proof |
| Convictions | KOOL displays only the last ten |
| Photo | Common but not present on every record |
The FAQ says KOOL updates four times daily, while also warning that accuracy is not guaranteed and recent information may not be final. Search the DOC Daily Releases archive around the likely date. Contact Offender Information Services or request records when older history, sentence computation, or a discharge document is missing.
Boyle Court Release Evidence
Boyle District Court commonly handles misdemeanors, traffic matters, preliminary felony steps, and initial bond issues. Circuit Court handles felony prosecution, judgments, and sentences. Search the actual case rather than inferring the court division from a roster charge label. Useful records include bond and release orders, dismissals, judgments, time-served credits, probation orders, and docket events.
The court order explains legal authority. The BCDC record gives the physical release timestamp. Pairing both prevents a bond order from being mistaken for a completed exit or a jail departure from being mistaken for dismissal. The official Boyle court page separates Circuit and District contacts and links case and court-date tools.

The court record persists after the current jail listing disappears, though it does not log the exact moment someone walked out of BCDC.
Correct Boyle County Release Errors
BCDC expressly asks users to report inmate-record errors and says the center will attempt to verify and correct them. Identify the exact booking and field. Attach the court order or other authoritative document that supports the correction. A vague claim is harder for staff to match to an existing jail entry.
Each custodian corrects its own system. The clerk controls the court order, BCDC controls its booking entry, and DOC controls KOOL. VINE depends on participating-agency reports and can lag. Preserve the incorrect display, the correction request, delivery proof, and response so the sequence is clear.
Boyle County VINE Release Check
Kentucky VINE covers participating county jails and adult correctional facilities. BCDC itself publishes the state line, 1-800-511-1670, which makes VINE the immediate local fallback when a name leaves JailTracker. Search a single person by name or ID, then verify identity, agency, custody status, event wording, and last update.
Kentucky's official explanation says VINE gives the release date when a person is not in custody. Still, VINE is not a certified release record. A transfer can look like departure from one facility while custody continues elsewhere. Register on the matching record for available release, transfer, or escape notices.
The Kentucky VINELink portal begins with a named-person search.

The search supports a status check and alert registration. The jail, DOC, or court record remains the lasting documentary source.
Boyle County Release Supervision
District 6 of Kentucky DOC Probation and Parole serves Boyle County from 672 David Avenue in Danville. Its published numbers are 859-239-7614 and 859-239-7693. The office confirms appropriate public supervision information; it does not keep the county jail's booking-photo archive.
- Parole
- Conditional release under Board authority before sentence expiration.
- Probation
- A court-ordered supervision status, often used instead of or after confinement.
- Mandatory reentry
- A statutory supervision route for certain people near projected completion.
- Absconder
- A later supervision problem that does not erase the original release event.
Review KOOL and then call the responsible office with a DOC number and date of birth when known. Obtain the final Board action for the historical parole decision and the later DOC or Board record for final discharge. An eligibility hearing is not proof that parole was granted or executed.
Boyle Release Systems Compared
Each system answers a narrow question. Using it outside that scope creates false conclusions, especially because Boyle County contains both a county jail and a state prison.
| System | Best use | Key limit |
|---|---|---|
| BCDC current list | Current county custody | Absence is not release proof |
| BCDC release record | County departure date, type, destination | Must be requested after online disappearance |
| KOOL and DOC Daily Releases | State custody, supervision, discharge | Not complete for local-only detainees |
| Boyle court file | Legal authority and disposition | Not the physical exit timestamp |
| VINE | Status check and event notices | Not a certified record |
| BOP or ICE | Federal or immigration custody | No-result and release labels have limits |
Boyle County Federal Release Records
No dedicated federal prison or ICE detention center was identified in Boyle County, but federal custody can follow a local jail departure. The BOP Inmate Locator covers federal inmates from 1982 onward. A result marked “RELEASED,” or a past release date without a BOP facility, means BOP custody ended. It does not rule out state custody, immigration custody, parole, or federal supervised release.
ICE ODLS accepts either an A-number and country of birth or exact biographical fields. It covers current ICE detention and some people released within the prior 60 days, omits minors, and may omit or delay other records. A no-result is weak evidence. When a BCDC record names an ICE hold, the key fact is transfer from county custody, not community release.
Federal pretrial detention has another path. A federal court order explains the legal authority, while U.S. Marshals Service records may document physical custody, housing, transfer, or disposition. The USMS has no public released-prisoner search comparable to BOP. A focused records request should name the person, identifiers, date range, and existing custody document sought.
Boyle County Release Facilities
Boyle County Detention Center is the primary county jail. Its current roster helps answer whether a person remains there, while its release record, VINE, and the Boyle court file establish what happened afterward. A transfer destination must be followed in the receiving system.
Northpoint Training Center is a Kentucky DOC state prison in Boyle County. Its releases and transfers belong in KOOL, DOC Daily Releases, VINE, DOC records, and District 6 supervision records. The BCDC roster does not cover Northpoint.
No dedicated federal prison or ICE detention center was identified in Boyle County. A federal sentence release belongs in the BOP locator. A county departure under an ICE detainer belongs in ICE ODLS. Federal pretrial movement may require the court docket and USMS records.
